An introduction to Thai cookery Class in London
In this 5-hour comprehensive class, we’ll explore the core elements of Thai food, which is all about simple, beautiful ingredients and expertly balanced flavour profiles.
First up, we’ll begin by guiding you through four key taste sensations – salty, sour, sweet and hot – and you’ll learn how to balance them. Then once you’ve got to grips with the basics, you’ll rustle up your first Thai-inspired dish: Tom yum soup, complete with fresh prawns and tender mushrooms.
Next, we’ll dive into an aromatic Thai green curry. Our chefs will teach you how to maximise the flavour from your spices to make your own stunning curry paste from scratch, which you’ll take home to pop in the fridge or freezer for another day. To celebrate cracking this core skill, you’ll then enjoy a fresh bowl of our chef’s curry, washed down with a glass of something cold and delicious.
Finally, we’ll stir-fry quality bavette steak or aubergine until sizzling hot, then toss in an umami-packed sauce with dark soy sauce, garlic and chilli. Along side that, we’ll pound staple Thai ingredients into a sweet and sour dressing and toss through crunchy veg for a next-level side salad.
At the end of the course, you’ll have learned the key to balancing flavour, and put it to practice across four delicious dishes. You’ll leave with the confidence to cook up Thai-style dishes from scratch, with a better understanding of this wonderful cuisine.
