Come and join Jamie Oliver’s expert teaching chefs for a seriously delicious all-day Italian Masterclass at his Essex home, Spains Hall. Alongside learning how to cook beautiful Italian dishes using seasonal veg from Jamie’s secret garden, you’ll get stuck into hands-on workshops, sample top-quality ingredients and sit down to a special dining experience in the stunning grounds of Spains Hall. You’ll leave with new skills, delicious recipes and unforgettable foodie memories.
What your day looks like…
- Bake the perfect focaccia to take home with you
- Watch the chefs whip up elegant antipasti using beautiful veg from Jamie’s garden
- Master the art of handmade pasta
- Tour Jamie’s veg garden
- Dine together over a a gorgeous Italian feast and a glass or two of fine wine

Arrival (11:30 – 12:00)
- Get checked in, meet your teachers and fellow participants, and enjoy some light refreshments.
Focaccia making (12:00 – 12:45)
- Learn how to make the perfect focaccia.
- Understand the techniques behind kneading, proving and baking.
- Bake your very own focaccia to take home.
Chef’s table: Italian antipasti (12:45 – 13:30)
- Join the teaching chef in Jamie’s demo kitchen.
- Watch and learn as he prepares 3 fresh, classic Italian antipasti.
- Enjoy Italian treats like arancini, mortadella bruschette and homemade pesto, alongside freshly baked breads and nibbles.
Break (13.30-14.00)
Fresh pasta masterclass (14:00 – 17:00)
Pasta dough
- Master Jamie’s foolproof Royal pasta dough recipe.
- Learn the techniques for rolling and shaping fresh pasta.
- Create a variety of shapes to take home.
The perfect pasta sauces
- Learn to make classic Italian sauces to pair with your pasta.
- Cook to perfection with the teaching chef’s expert guidance.
Super salads
- Take a tour of Jamie’s garden.
- Pick fresh salad and veggies to accompany your pasta.
- Learn how to build salads, create zingy dressings and make every salad a showstopper.
Al-fresco feast in Jamie’s garden (17:00 – 18:00)
- Dine alfresco (weather permitting!) with your fellow participants, enjoying the fruits of your labour and a glass or two of fine wine.

Will Jamie be there on the course?
Jamie himself won’t be, but you’ll be taught by his team of expert teaching chefs from The Jamie Oliver Cookery School.
Can I attend this course on my own?
You are more than welcome to book on your own! The day will be filled with opportunities to mingle with like-minded people.
Can you provide taxi numbers?
Sure! Yelo Taxis (01376 334455) are based in Braintree and you can book online and pay in advance.
I have special dietary requirements, can I still book?
For this particular masterclass we won’t be able to cater for those who follow a vegan, gluten-free or dairy-free diet. We can accommodate those who follow a vegetarian diet but we ask that you let us know when making your booking by filling in the relevant field. For any other allergies or intolerances, please reach out to us at contact@jamiescookeryschool.com and our team will be happy to advise.
Can I post photos on my socials?
Absolutely! Before the course, we’ll take you through the House Policy, which will clarify where photos are and aren’t allowed.
How will I know where to go, when to arrive, and what to bring?
