Whether you’re embracing more meat-free days, living a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle, or just looking for brilliant ways to boost flavour – this is the class for you. In this 5-hour comprehensive course, we’ll explore the ins and outs of cooking with beautiful vegetables to create a variety of veg-packed dishes.
First up, we’ll begin by guiding you through four key taste sensations – salty, sour, sweet and hot – and you’ll learn how to balance them by making a Thai-style crunchy sweet & sour salad. Our chefs will also teach how to deepen flavour with a series of umami boosters – from miso and soy sauce, to porcini mushrooms and beyond. You’ll then master the power of charring when it comes to creating sweeter and richer flavours, before showing off your new-found skills by rustling up a veg-packed curry.
Finally, you’ll learn how to make simple veg-based sauces that are perfect for pasta dishes, so you’ll have the ability to create a speedy vegan meal in a matter of minutes. What’s more, our chefs will prepare spinach pasta dough, so you can enjoy freshly made pasta that really makes your sauce sing. After a fun-packed day, you’ll sit down to relax and enjoy the fruits of your labour at the chef’s table, with a glass of something cold and delicious.
At the end of the course, you’ll leave with the tools to create incredible plant-based meals at home, plus the confidence to experiment with flavour profiles, cooking techniques, and a wide variety of beautiful veggies.
