In this 5-hour comprehensive course, we’ll introduce you to two distinctive and equally fantastic styles of Indian cookery, so you can get to grips with the basics. You can’t beat a curry made from scratch, so our chefs will reveal the secrets to building amazing pastes – the foundation of any great curry. Then it’s your turn – you’ll make an incredible Keralan curry paste to create a prawn curry, inspired by a beautiful South Indian recipe. You’ll also find out how to cook amazing vegetable bhajis and fluffy naan breads, before sitting down to enjoy your hard work at the chef’s table.
Next up, we’ll dive into the wonderful world of North Indian cuisine to cook a vegetarian thali – a selection of small dishes, traditionally served on a tray. Our chefs will demonstrate how to make a silky smooth daal, and reveal the secrets to cooking perfectly fluffy rice, every time. You’ll also rustle up a chickpea masala, crispy spiced okra and stir-fried vegetables – all served up with your own homemade Chapati bread.
After a fun-packed day, you’ll sit down to relax, and enjoy the fruits of your labour at the chef’s table, with a cold glass of mango lassi.
At the end of the course, you’ll have the confidence to cook with a variety of spices, and to create your own incredible curry pastes from scratch. You’ll come away with the ability to whip up some seriously impressive dishes, from curries to Indian-style breads, and beyond.
